Diaphragm/inspiratory muscle weakness/paralysis (w/wo ARF)

Presentation may range from restrictive lung dysfunction to acute respiratory failure. Can be due to noncompetitive myoneuronal presynaptic blockade of acetylcholine release, myasthenia gravis, or myopathy. May cause severe or fatal respiratory failure.
